Garden Tour

I toured around my yard today, taking note of all the necessary chores to move things forward into Spring. I was pleased to see that I have 13 different things blooming at this time and several others that are ready to burst! About six years ago I started filling in a lot of my flower beds with perennials and flowers that bloomed at different times throughout the year as to always have color in my yard.  It seems to be finally paying off. I use to plant lots of colorful annuals in order to get the garden going each season, that was a lot of work and pretty expensive. I still enjoy a few annuals, even some from seed, but to have the garden just happen and to get better ever year sure is nice. There is still plenty of chores (fun) to be done, but it is much more enJOYable with blooms all around me as I do them.  ~Jacque

I like perennials too. It is fun to see them grow bigger each year. I enjoy annuals and I buy some of those but not as many as I use to. I plant seeds too.

I only planted a few perennials...I have the greenhouse, so it makes the cost of the annuals much lower than to buy them outright at a garden center. Your photos are always so pretty....can't wait for more!
Thank you for the wonderful comment on my window box post today. Blog land is certainly good for my ego on those days when I need a lift!
visit again soon friend.

Hi, I'm a newby to your blog and have enjoyed it immensely. I too used to be all about annuals, then got into perennials in a big way. I still do annuals as I couldn't live without geraniums, zinnias and tulips which have to be replanted where I live. Now, I have gotten into tropicals; citrus, olives, bay etc. but have to overwinter in the barn. Have you looked at Logee's catalogs. They have great stuff.
