In Anticipation....

This is not what it looks like right now.  We are in the middle of a series of storms, wet, dark, leafless, flower-less, muddy storms. My yard will look like this again, it always returns and better every year.  In the mean time the beauty in my yard comes from the vast activity I have invited by hanging several bird feeders and providing food for the squirrels. My regular visitors have told all their friends, and relatives, and acquaintances, you get the idea, yes, they are everywhere! James looked out the back window this morning and said "I wonder if feeding these guys was such a good idea". The birds have been pulling our sweet pea vines down, they must be sweet, I have never seen that before, and the squirrels can be quite destructive, especially on containers of bulbs. I love watching all this activity and the energy these creatures bring to my now bleak garden, they can stay.... My mother, an avid gardener would always say "we will just have to plant enough for them and us" she was referring to the deer and rabbits, those haven't showed up here.  Yet!
