My Old Seed Box

I don't know for sure what this was, but I sure do love it for seeds in my green house. I found the old primitive box with drawers at a garden show I was selling at.  It came just as it is with rusty muffin tins in each drawer, they actually look as though they were made for it but it is hard to tell.  I collect a lot of my seeds from my own yard and the muffin tins are a great way to store them, ideally they should be labeled but rarely do I not know what plant the seeds are from and a surprise can be fun too!  I also keep seeds in dry airtight antique mason jars, such as hollyhocks that take up more room.  It is fun to share seeds so I keep small envelopes and markers near by so visitors can take a gift home after a visit to my garden. Another tool I use for planting seeds is an old artist brush, the handle can be used to create a hole in the soil and then the soil can be gently brushed back over the seed. This is a little bit more of my green house, hope you are enjoying the tour.

I am so happy you left a comment for me so that I could come and find your blog! Gardening is my passion but it is such a short season here that I enjoy reading all about other gardens in the winter. Blogs are such a fun way to share ideas and see things that I want to "copy" in my own gardens. I look forward to following your site and I love your little green house and seed box!

Dear Jacque,

I wanted to thank you for stopping by to enter for the giveaway. I went to your other blog...and didn't see that you had a recent post, and then found you here. That is a wonderful old box you have in your greenhouse. Thank you for your sun description...I am enjoying reading that everyone does take a moment to notice how the sun makes us feel when it peeks in our homes, or through the trees in our yards. That makes me smile. While looking around this blog, I saw your beautiful little Mollie, that you lost in April. I am sorry. I know the pain. She looked so sweet in that picture. I don't know if you noticed while visiting my blog that a couple posts back I posted a pic of my sweet Shelby that I lost 5 years ago. It took me two years to stop crying...literally. She was my girl. Anyway, I just wanted to make mention that I noticed your sweet Mollie. Hugs, ~Cheryl

Hi Jacque,

Your greenhouse is fantastic. Looking at all your gardening pictures makes me want to get out and work in my garden (the roses really need pruning so maybe I will tackle that). I will be stopping by again for sure!

Just wanted to leave a message to say thanks for stopping by my blog ... How'd it go with the wiring you were having done?

All the best-
Sue
