By request I have put down my trowel and washed the dirt from my hands so I can share a little of my creative world with you. The Creative Gardener was created out of the desire to combine all of my passions. Gardening, teaching, designing, writing, decorating and treasure hunting. This all takes place at my little red house with the white pickett fence surrounded by my garden that grows wild and happy!

Decorating with Natural Items
Greenery, branches, pine cones, moss and other various things found in nature can be used inside and out to add a festive holiday look. Greenery kept outdoors will last longer and any placed indoors should be kept away from heat sources. Many natural items can be found around your own yard or you can find a place in the woods where you have permission to do some minor pruning. Be careful to not bring any poisonous plants into your home if you have animals or children and be careful not to let sap drip on to any of your furniture. With a few precautions and a hike in the woods you can add a lot to your holiday decor with out any expense.

I am having a hard time getting into Christmas this year. I haven't done a thing yet. Maybe this weekend(-:
I take it all down the day after Christmas so if I wait much longer I won't have to do anything at all...lol(-:
So lush and picturesque. I decided to use more natural elements for our little front porch this year. I found some wonderful long needle pine branchs while out for a walk, along w/ some pinecones and it worked.
